We won!

I'd like to thank everyone for their help and support during a very difficult campaign.  We had to face many obstacles and challenges over the last 8 months, yet we came through on the winning side!

I'm thrilled to announce that we raised over $200,000 in our election, and this was nearly all grass-roots fundraising!  Since I've made a pledge to decline contributions from home builders, refineries, labor unions and Indian Gaming tribes, we really had to reach out to friends and local businesses to support our efforts.  We did, and we did well!

I have said previously, that every campaign is a personal and professional challenge.  It is an eye opening experience and you learn so much about yourself, your family and those around you.

I am truly blessed to have a great family and group of friends who never failed to step up and help provide support, no matter the hour of the day.

I am very proud of the work we have accomplished so far in the county, and know that we have much more work to do over the next four-and-a-half years.  I look forward to the challenges and the adventure!

Together we have made a significant difference, and together we will accomplish so much more!

With deep sincerity and gratitude for the opportunity to serve a second term, thank you!

“Mary is a strong voice for children and quality schools -- and a responsible leader for all of us who make our homes in Contra Costa.”

Senator Tom Torlakson, 7th District

“Mary Piepho joined the board when the county was facing some long neglected, difficult challenges. She went right to work, brought people together, invited input and, then, made the tough decisions to address those problems. Progress has been made, but Mary knows there is still much to do and is determined to do it. With her on the job, our county will see growing improvement and changes for the better."

Lynne Leach, Former Assemblywoman, 15thA.D
