To write your local newspaper editor and express your support, please make sure all letters include your name, address and phone number, and you send to all e-mail addresses.
It does not hurt to have the phrase "You have my permission to print this letter." in the message box of your letter.  But the editorial departments may still call to confirm that you wrote the letter and wish it to be published, always say "Yes"! 
After five days, please follow up with the Contra Costa Times Editor at (925) 977-8430 and ask if they received your letter.  If they did not, resend it and follow up again with them after 7 days.
